REST
HOUR
Rest hour is time for campers to catch their breath
and digest (their lunch and their day!). They can either
nap, or do quiet activities in their own tents or cabins.
If your campers seem tired, encourage them to have a
rest- they won’t be missing anything!
Bring them their mail
Talk to them briefly about how their day is going.
You do not have to stay with them.
At the end of rest hour, go to their cabin and make
sure their ready for the afternoon.
.
CULTIVA
Culiva is free time between the afternoon activities
and supper; we have buddy swim and other activities
in place for the campers during this time. You may be
asked to run an activity or be a lifeguard if you are
qualified. This is a good time to spend with your campers
if you are not running an activity
BEFORE SUPPER
Stop by to check on your campers; make sure they had
a good afternoon and are ready for supper.
AFTER SUPPER
Tuck (Campers can get candy at the tuck shop on alternating
nights)
Puddle Time- Free time for campers to play, visit an
older/younger sibling, relax with cabin mates or counselors
If you are doing evening program, now’s the time
to take care of last minute stuff. You have half an
hour between the end of dinner and the bell for program.
BEDTIME
The last half hour of the day is one of the special
times you’ll get to have with your campers. Sleeping
away from home, especially in the beginning can be difficult
for some, so bedtime is time to be positive, caring
and calm.
Go down to your cabin with your campers after program
You must all be back in your cabin from the washrooms
by ten minutes before the first whistle.
Keep things quiet and relaxing as they get into bed.
Say goodnight to each of your campers individually.
It can also be nice to have an evening ritual, doing
or saying the same thing together before saying goodnight
like the highlights of the day or what your excited
about for tomorrow
After the second whistle, all staff must come to the
meeting point to sing taps together.
