MORNING
First thing in the morning, before rising bell, we have staff assembly where the staff can take their meds, talk to the unit heads and get excited for the day.

At the rising bell, we are at our campers cabins ready to wake them up in the language of the day (Think about how you like to get woken up, and try the same thing.)
Get your campers dressed and ready for breakfast (Younger campers may need help!)
Be at flag raising by the bell

CABIN CLEANUP
Right after breakfast is cabin clean up, help your campers;
Make their beds.
Straighten orange crates, beds, shoes, etc.
Hang up clothing and towels.
Clean up around cabin and clothesline.
Empty garbage.
Sweep.
Loop Tent (if applicable)
This is also the time when kids get ready for activities, put on Bathing Suit, Hat, Sunscreen and fill their water bottle.

ASSEMBLY
We sit in our cabin groups at assembly. This is a time when we make any announcements that need to be made, Sing songs and do challenges.

MEALS
Staff are to be in the dining room preparing for the meal by the time the bell rings. Every counselor plays a role at meals.
2 or 3 staff sit at a table with the campers.
Meals are conducted “Family Style” at round tables.
To Prepare the table:
Bring food from the kitchen to the head of the table.
Fill cups half full of water, campers must drink the water before they sit down
The Meal
Help campers keep quiet and calm entering the dining room. (No running!)
Alternate seating between English and French speaking campers.
We say a variation on “Grace” together at the beginning of every meal, led by a counselor, which everyone must participate in, or remain quiet for.
Pick Clearers (for clearing the table during the meal / bringing food to the table from the kitchen)
Rubber ducks is passed for tables to visit the salad bar.
If a camper doesn’t want a certain part of the meal, give her a “no thank you” helping.
Talk to your campers in the language of the day!
Singing songs is encouraged during the end of courses, waiting for desert to be ready etc.
Make sure campers are happy and engaged, but always polite. Encourage them to use their best manners!

REST HOUR
Rest hour is time for campers to catch their breath and digest (their lunch and their day!). They can either nap, or do quiet activities in their own tents or cabins. If your campers seem tired, encourage them to have a rest- they won’t be missing anything!
Bring them their mail
Talk to them briefly about how their day is going.
You do not have to stay with them.
At the end of rest hour, go to their cabin and make sure their ready for the afternoon.
.

CULTIVA
Culiva is free time between the afternoon activities and supper; we have buddy swim and other activities in place for the campers during this time. You may be asked to run an activity or be a lifeguard if you are qualified. This is a good time to spend with your campers if you are not running an activity

BEFORE SUPPER
Stop by to check on your campers; make sure they had a good afternoon and are ready for supper.

AFTER SUPPER
Tuck (Campers can get candy at the tuck shop on alternating nights)
Puddle Time- Free time for campers to play, visit an older/younger sibling, relax with cabin mates or counselors
If you are doing evening program, now’s the time to take care of last minute stuff. You have half an hour between the end of dinner and the bell for program.

BEDTIME
The last half hour of the day is one of the special times you’ll get to have with your campers. Sleeping away from home, especially in the beginning can be difficult for some, so bedtime is time to be positive, caring and calm.
Go down to your cabin with your campers after program
You must all be back in your cabin from the washrooms by ten minutes before the first whistle.
Keep things quiet and relaxing as they get into bed.
Say goodnight to each of your campers individually. It can also be nice to have an evening ritual, doing or saying the same thing together before saying goodnight like the highlights of the day or what your excited about for tomorrow
After the second whistle, all staff must come to the meeting point to sing taps together.
