C.I.T. Program

To be eligible for the program, you must be 16 by July 1st. If you are eligible and did not receive an application and letter about the program please let me know.

WHAT IS THE C.I.T. PROGRAM

• Two-month leadership training program, to become a counsellor here at Ouareau or a leader at another organization.
  
• To work on both hard skills and soft skills
  -Hard skills are things like canoeing, swimming, rock climbing etc.
  -Soft skills are things like team building, understand ing group dynamics etc.
  
• You will spend time shadowing a Dekopi counsellor and her group and then take care of that group on her day off.
  

WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR IN AN APPLICANT

• At least your Bronze Medallion in swimming.
  
• Skills in different camp activities, example level 3 in archery or kayaking etc. As well as your proficiency in non level activities such as Arts & Crafts and Drama.
  
• C2 in Canoeing. (If you do not have your C2 you need to be prepared to work each day on your own time to complete all but the solo part of the C2 before the canoe/kayak trip)
  
• A good working knowledge of your second language.
  
• Having done some sort of community work.
  Show good leadership skills both here at camp and at home
