SITE We are located in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec near St. Donat, 90 miles north of Montreal . Five miles of island studded water stretch majestically before you as you take in the view from our counsel ring . Lookout Mountain rises on your left to heights of 1000' – and across the lake the hills roll on, and on. Venus, the first star of evening, rises just over Lookout as the sun sets in dramatic shades of fire. Our waterfront is private; large enough to accommodate separate areas for each of our varied water sports. We also have access to several of the islands on Lake Ouareau- fun for canoeing, windsurfing, sailing and kayaking adventures!
Ouareau's cabins and tents are designed to be part of the natural beauty, each one nestled in a special wooded place of its own. Our log lodge is originally from 1922, and considered one of the log masterpieces of Quebec . Ouareau's other newer structures are delightful. The innovative style of craftsman Don Raill infuses traditional designs with modernity and lightness, pairing the rugged with clean lines and comfort. Our dining room, health center, guest lodge and bathroom facilities are all examples of his ingenuity.
